Notes - TERRIBLE ACCIDENT — On Saturday evening, two men, named Cyrus C. Rhodes and Daniel P. Brown, of Springville, in this county, were killed at the Elk street crossing of the State Line Road. They, in company with a man named Eli Shultes, were in a lumber wagon drawn by two horses, and were on their way to Springville. On arriving at the crossing, the train which left here at 9.40 came dashing along, the locomotive striking the wagon with a tremendous crash, instantly killing Brown, his neck having been broken.— Rhodes had a portion of the back of his head taken completely off, and died in about an hour after he was struck. Shultes escaped uninjured. — Buffalo Commercial.
